During her 71 years as woman religious, she served in the Diocese of Mar- quette. In the diocese, she taught at Sacred Heart in Munising as an elementary school teacher. She spent 26 years minister- ing in elementary education and 17 years as a librarian in various parts of Michigan. Sister Beatty became a resident of the Dominican Life Center in Adrian in 2010. A funeral Mass was held on Jan. 25 in the St. Catherine Chapel of the Dominican Life Center. Sister Marie Sheila Beatty, OP Marie Sheila Beatty, OP M i Sh il Thomas Francis Corrigan, Sr., age 90, the father of diocesan Deacon Thomas Corrigan, died on Jan. 25 at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium, Mich. Corrigan was born on April 27, 1926, a son of Maurice and Agnes Corrigan. He joined the Air Force during World War II, where he trained as an air traffic controller. Following then he worked at the Houghton County Airport, retiring in 1981. Corrigan married Jeanette Johnson on April 29, 1950 at Sa- cred Heart Catholic Church in Calumet. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Lake Linden. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley, and twin sister Jane. He is survived by his wife-Jeanette; Six children: Deacon Thomas (Pat) of Chassell, Mich., Lawrence (Cecelia) of Bootjack, Mich., Michael (Nancy) of Bootjack, Edwin (Darlene) of Bootjack, Diane Sissy (Donald) Wareham of Tamarack, Mich., and Linda (Joe) Schneller of Bootjack; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grand- children; sister Pat Rogalla of Wausau, Wis.; a brother-George (Virginia) Corrigan of Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Jan. 30 at St. Joseph Parish in Lake Linden. Father Joseph Boakye Yiadom celebrated the Mass. Thomas Corrigan, Sr. Thomas Corrigan, Sr. Sister Elizabeth Kreiner, OP, 95, formerly known as Sister Catherine William Kreiner, who served in the Diocese of Mar- quette, died on Jan. 15 at the Dominican Life Center in Adri- an, Mich. She was in her 79th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Con- gregation. In the diocese she served as an elementary school teacher and principal at St. Patrick in Escanaba, from 1968-70. She also taught in Illinois, Minnesota, and various oth- er schools in Michigan. In addition, she served as the executive director of Mercy House Corp in Chicago, and research coordinator in Lom- bard, Ill. Sister Kreiner became a resident of the Dominican Life Center in 2000. A Mass of Christian burial took place on Jan. 20 in the St. Catherine Chapel of the Domini- can Life Center.
