In a Sept. 2, 2011 article in The U.P. Catholic, Father Clisch reflected on his duties as a pastor, I enjoyed being of service to people, visiting the sick and the confessional. As a young priest, I was surprised by the many opportu- nities there are for priests. There are more than I thought there would be. Father Clisch was preceded in death by his brothers, Roger and Paul Clisch and his sister-in-law, Shirley Clisch. He is survived by his brothers, Ger- ald (Shirley), Thomas (Mary Kay), and Roland Clisch, all of Baraga; and sisters, Colleen (Thomas) Armstrong of Milwaukee, Wis. and Lisa (James) Mantila of Republic, Mich. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Feb. 10, celebrated by Bishop Emer- itus James Garland. Interment will be in the Baraga Cemetery in the spring.
