Carmel will be held each night at 7 p.m. at the Carmelite Monastery in Iron Mountain. Each night will consist of Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, reflec- tions on Our Blessed Mother, rosary, Litany of Our Lady and hymns. SUNDAY, July 17 St. Joseph Parish, Perkins will host its parish picnic from noon until 4:30 p.m. on the parish ground. A turkey and ham dinner will be served from noon until 3 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults and chil- dren under 12 are $4. JULY 31-AUG. 7 An eight-day silent directed retreat will be held at May- frove Retreat Center in Gar- den. With very few exceptions, there is no talking during the retreat. The retreat includes Mass and communal morning and evening prayer. There are also opportunities to visit with a spiritual director daily. The camp will run daily from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and is open to all youth ages 10-17, regardless of experi- ence. For more information, see the left hand column of this page. SUNDAY, August 7 The Legion of Mary, Mar- quette Curia will meet at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Redeemer, Menominee. SUNDAY, August 14 Resurrection Parish, Menominee will hold its annual festival on the parish frounds from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. An Italian meatball dinner, brats and hot dogs will be served. There will also be prize drawings, a silent auction and music. BISHOP DOERFLER SCHEDULE Diocesan Youth Choir Camp set for Aug. 8-12 A Diocesan Youth Choir Camp will be held Aug. 8-12 at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. Three times daily participants will have 45 minute sessions of rehearsal, along with learning about music theory and the history of the Church. At the end of each day, youth will sing the daily Evening Prayer. The camp is open to youth ages 10-17. Registration deadline is July 30, with a cost of $30 per family, which includs daily lunch and materials. Scholarships are available for inancial assistance. Tickets available for annual Carmelite Silver Tea The annual silver tea at the Carmelite Monastery in Iron Mountain will be held Sept. 17-18 from noon until 3 p.m. CT each day. Tickets are now available at parishes throughout the diocese or at the monastery. Tickets for the main drawing are a suggested $1 donation. Prizes for the drawings include his and her bikes, fishing kayak and cash prizes. Tea, complete with sandwiches and sweets will be served during the two days. Arts, crafts and baked goods, including the sisters famous bread will also be available. There will be door prizes throughout the day. Donations of new craft items, jams, jellies, honey, maple syrup, etc. are also being accepted.
