He was born in Wilmington, Ohio on June 21, 1927 to parents Leo and Ada (Miller) Garland. He served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1945. He then worked for several years in the Ohio Highway Patrol before a long and successful career with the Cin- cinnati Insurance Company, in which he retired from in 1989. Garland was devoted to serving others and to his Catholic faith. He volunteered in numerous capacities while living at St. Leon- ard Franciscan Community in Centerville, Ohio where he spent the last 14 years. Garland is survived by his daughters, Deborah, Angie and Joni; and son, Robert. Funeral Services were held at St. Leonard Main Chapel, with Rev. Gerry Haemmerle officiating. Raymond W. Originally from Perkins, Mich., Sister Miljour entered the community of the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1948 and professed her final vows in 1956. Her teaching career included Holy Rosary School in St. Louis, St. Luke School in Richmond Heights, Mo., Blessed Sacrament High School in St. Louis and Aquinas High School in Florissant, Mo. She also taught in Denver, Atlanta and Kansas City, Mo. Sister Miljour assisted at St. Eliza- beth House of Prayer in Kansas City. She later worked in spiritual direction and therapy else- where in Kansas City, as well as in Michigan and Minnesota. Survivors include a sister, Margaret Larson of Negaunee, Mich. A funeral Mass was held on Aug. 18 at the Nazareth Living Center Chapel in south St. Louis County.
