He was born on Feb. 26, 1931 to Stephen Junak, Sr. and Leona Larmour in Green- wood, where he was a lifelong resident. He was a 1949 graduate of Ishpeming High School and a veteran of the United States Army. Junak married Rosemary Plankey on May 9, 1953 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Champion. He worked for the Marquette County Road Commission for 40 years, retir- ing as superintendent of maintenance. Junak is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosemary, sons, Larry and Michael Junak of Ishpeming; daughters, Deborah (Joseph) Ra- cine of Ishpeming, Julie Pascoe of Ishpeming and Lori (Greg) Jeffers of Ruther-Glen, Va.; sisters, Sister Jean Junak and Nancy Cope and brother, James Junak; 10 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one great-grand- daughter, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Shirley Delongchamp and Sister Rosemary Junak and a son-in-law, Thomas Pascoe. Funeral services were held on Oct. 22 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming. Fa- ther Dan Moll officiated. OBITUARIES Norman 'Jeff' Sjoquist Norman Jeff Sjoquist, 74, grandfather of Father Bradley Sjoquist, died on Oct. 23, 2015 at Dickinson County Hospital System. Sjoquist was born on Nov. 30, 1940 in Iron Mountain to Clifford and Vera Sjoquist. He was a 1958 grad- uate of Florence High School. He married Gloria K. McMahon on Jan. 27, 1962, together they raised three children and resided in Kingsford for 44 years. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kingsford, where he was very active and helped out in many capacities. His faith in God was the central focus of his life. Sjoquist worked at Wittock Supply for 20 years. He was a partner in starting Prime Supply Company in 1992, where he retired from in 2003 and served as the chairman of their board of directors. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gloria Sjoquist; children, Jeff (Na- nette) Sjoquist of Kingsford, Jamie (Don- na) Sjoquist of Amasa and Julie (Gary) Miller of Kingsford; grandchildren, Father Bradley Sjoquist, Daniel (Jordan) Sjoquist, Alicia Miller, Jacob Miller (fiance Calyn), and Robert Pavat- to; one great grandchild, Logan Pavatto; brothers, Lloyd (Gerri) Sjoquist and Don (Rosemary) Sjoquist; sisters Barbara (Rich- ard) Olson and Carol (Bob) Lohr; sisters-in law Sheila (William) Burby and Sally (Alan) Peterson; brother-in-law Alan (Nancy Schuls) McMahon; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Vera Sjoquist and father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Arlene McMahon. A funeral service was held on Oct. 28 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kings- ford and burial took place in the Home- stead-Aurora Cemetery. Norman C. Sjoquist N C
