CATHOLIC CALENDARS (ALL TIMES LOCAL) December 9, 2016 17 Knights of Columbus Christmas poster contest The Knights of Columbus Council 689 in Marquette is inviting all children ages 5 through 14 to participate in the organizations international Keep Christ in Christmas post- er contest. By engaging the creative talents of our young people, the Knights hope they will come to a deeper understanding of the true, spiritual meaning of Christmas. The contest will be conducted locally with winning entries advancing to the district level and then to the state, national and interna- tional levels. The contest started on Nov. 16 and ends on Dec. 15. Entry forms, paper, and more information for the con- test are available at the Marquette branches of the Upper Peninsula Catholic Credit Union and Father Marquette Catholic School. Posters must be submitted to those locations by Dec. 15. Winners of the contest will be contacted by Tuesday, Dec. 20. All proceeds will be donated to the Iron Mountain St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. The breakfast menu includes eggs, bacon, sausage and more. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children age 7-12, ages six and under are free.
