Vonck, Jr. Raymond L. Ray Vonck, Jr., 85, of Marquette, father of Deacon Warren Vonck, died Nov. 25, 2015 at U.P. Health System-Marquette sur- rounded by his loving family. Vonck was born on July 14, 1930 in Mar- quette to the late Ray A. and Fannie (Halso) Vonck. He owned and oper- ated Dresseler & Sons Plumbing and Heating for almost 40 years carrying on the tradition started by his frandfather, Charlie Dressel- er. Vonck served on various committees of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #414 and was a past president of the Marquette Builders Exchange. He was a former member of St. Michael Parish and St. Peter Cathedral. He served on many committees including the building committee for the construction of St. Michael Catholic Church, the diocesan building committee and a former board member of the Marquette Catholic Credit Union. Vonck was a charter member of the Serra Club for the Diocese of Marquette. He was active in the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Peter Cathedral and was also a Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Survivors include six chil- dren: Pamela (Daniel) Carl of Richland, Wash; Randy (Beth) Vonck of Ypsilan- ti, Mich.; Michael Mick (Judy) Vonck of Marquette; Ray (Mary) Vonck of Ada, Mich.; Deacon Warren (Lezle) Vonck of Mar- quette and Paul Vonck of Nashua, N.H.; along with 18 grand- children, 14 great frandchildren and two expected great grandchil- dren. He is also survived by the children of his late second wife, Ann Chapman-Vonck: Debra (Russ) Fure and Sandy (Jim Tarsi) Chapman, both of Marquette; Tim (Toni) Chapman of Batavia, Ill., Shel Chapman (Eugenia Woods) of Tucson, Ariz. and Joe (Marta) Chapman of Montana City, Mont.; along with their 11 frandchildren and 4 great frandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Preceding Vonck in death besides his parents was his irst wife, Elinor Vonck on Dec. 26, 1992, his second wife, Ann Chapman-Vonck on Dec. 8, 2014 and a sister, Shirley Stoll. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Nov. 30 at St. Lou- is the King Catholic Church in Harvey. Father Glenn Theoret presided and Deacon Scott Jamieson assisted. Raymond L. Vonck, Jr. R d L Deacon Ronald LeMire Deacon Ronald J. LeMire, age 74, of Norway, a deacon of the Diocese of Marquette, died Dec. 8, 2015 at Dickin- son County Memo- rial Hospital in Iron Mountain. He was born on Sept. 30, 1941 in Ludington, Mich., the son of the late Donald and Dorothy (Kotecki) LeMire. He graduted from Catholic High School in Muskegon in 1959 and lived in the city until 1965. Deacon LeMire married Marcia VanDyke on June 27, 1964 at St. Thomas Church in Muskegon. He worked in mens retail for 27 years owning LeCoves Clothing in Grand Haven, Mich. until 1983, when he became manager of Koffmans Men Store in Iron Mountain. Deacon LeMire was or- dained a permanent deacon for the diocese in 2003 and served at St. Mary Parish, Norway and St. Barbara Par- ish, Vulcan until his retire- ment in 2014. He enjoyed salmon fishing on Lake Mihcigan and was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed baseball and was scouted by the Detroit Tigers after high school, but vision problems kept him in recreational leagues. He loved having coffee with his friends and family, sitting in the sun, a food joke, his faith and his sports. Deacon LeMire is survived by his wife of 51 years Marcia; children Mi- chelle Faccio of Oil City, Penn., Mari LeMire of Grand Haven, Mich.; Jacque (Kelly) LeMire of Iron Mountain; Jon (Pam Powell) LeMire of Norway; Elizabeth (Richard) Ehlinger of Scandinavia, Wis.; Yvonne LeMire of Marquette and Ronald Joe (Courtney) LeMire of Kingsford; grand- children Mitch Horn, Chris (Bree) Horn, Joe, Andre, Greg, James and Luc LeMire, Isaac Ehlinger, Zach, Dono- van, and Sadie Powell; great frandson Daxon Horn; sister Karen (Dave) Swiatkowski of Lansing, Mich.; brothers Dan (Debbie) LeMire of White- hall, Mich. and Tom (Paula) LeMire of Muskegon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws Phil and Peggy VanDyke and his son-in-law Anthony Faccio. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Dec. 12 at St. Mary Parish in Norway. Bish- op John Doerfler presided, Father Timothy Ekaitis was the homilist and Deacon Don Christy assisted. Interment took place at the Quinnesec Cemetery.
